As some of you may or may not know I have put myself on a diet. At 5 feet tall I have just crossed into the obese category (according to the body fat mass calculator though some may say different). So I have decided to give up a lot and I am doing pretty well. I am on a 1200 calorie diet ( though I have only been eating about 1000 calories a day). Also I have been working out. For the first two weeks I did pilates. Which is a good warm up but not really a great work out. So I decided to buy myself two more work out DVD's. The first is Shape Bikini Body Camp and the second is Dance With Lisa made Simple Red Hot Salsa. Well today I decided that the salsa one should be simple enough. I mean let's look at the facts. I am latina. I know how to dance salsa... not as well as some but I can hold my own. And finally I'm latina dammit! So I popped it in the dvd player, put my socks and sneakers on and got ready to get busy. HA! Or so I thought. It started simple enough with the basic front, in place together, back, in place together. I had that down and was bored. *sigh* How I wish that boredom would have stayed. Then she moved to the basic cumbia move. Still bored but now I'm working up a little of a sweat (though it could be because I'm obese blah!). Then she annouces the work out will begin. SO I'm thinking some basic turns. HA... God I was so wrong. While I'm think some basic Puerto ricans house party with El Gran Combo or Ceila Cruz playing in thebackground while people cheer each other on for the elaborate turns (which I usually hate but I would have totally preferred) she's thinking some Dancing with the stars salsa. Oh No homie... So it stared out cool. She did some basic crossover move which was simple enough. The she just got all crazy on me. She did something where you had to tap your left toe out in out then do some hopping motion to switch to the other foot (don't ask.. I looked like a cross between Chandler and Marcel doing that shit... NOT COOL!!!). Then there was this front, in place, together, back, in place, side hope x2 (oh goodie that one was real fun! By 20 minutes into the dvd I decided that I was way too hispanic to be wearing any type of sneakers to dance salsa took them off and started dancing in my socks... on my wood floor. You remember that kick step step move? Well It was more like kick fal into Richie head first On the bright side It was a great Cardio work out Thank You Very Much miss Lisa lady but next time I want a Salsa workout, I'll throw on some salsa music and get busy like only Boricuas can!
). Oh and then there was this spanish version of walk it out type thing going on (which I still have no idea what the hell I was supposed to do and she repeated that shit like 20 times). And of course who can forget the kick step step vogue move? 
. Oh the fun! And there went the socks too. I was already making a fool of myself without falling thank you very much!
